Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony MDR-XD200 Stereo HeadphonesCustomer Review: quite comparable to higher end phones Summary: 5 Stars
I have an Audio Technica ATH-M50, which is known to be a superb $100+ headphone, and these sound just as good. I couldn't believe my ears at first, so I went back and forth putting it on. The ATH-M50 has just slightly more punch to the bass and very slightly more sharpness. For about $20, these are excellent headphones but of course it's cheaply made. The plastic is pretty flimsy and the earcups coating is made of paper (literally). The earcup paper will flake off in a few years or under heavy use, just like a similar Sony I had. Well, what do you expect for $20? If you want leather earcups, pony up the $$ for them. Otherwise, these are damn good for $20 and disposable after a few years. They are also quite comfy.
Customer Review: Best. Headphones. Evar. Summary: 5 Stars
These headphones could quite possibly put your big ol' surround system to shame.
Sony's definitely doing something right with these headphones. Not only do they have great sound, but the fit and durability is impeccable?
One very interesting feature included with these headphones is the switch on each earmuff that changes the tone and deep bass level of your sound between music mode and movie mode. Although I have yet to get a lot of use out of this feature, it is nice to be able to switch modes to tweak the sound levels, especially in noisy environments.
Looking for good bass? Clear sound? Great fit? Reasonable price? Get these headphones.
Customer Review: I like them a lot Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for a gift for my boyfriend and came across these. I read the great reviews and decided to take a chance. I was really surprised when he first put them on and said "these actually sound really good." I got some for my self too and they are very comfortable. I wear glasses and the headphones don't get in the way of that at all. Ive only used them around the house so I haven't experienced a whole lot of outside noise with them on. The cord is long, like 11ft or something. I just wrap it up to a decent length, it's kind of handy when you want to walk around but not take off your headphones. Overall I really like these headphones, nice sound and really comfortable.
Customer Review: An alternative to V150 Summary: 5 Stars
I normally only use the Sony V150 studio headphones. Thought I would give these a try. These tend to fit my head a little better and in my opinion the audio sounds just a bit better that the V150. I use them mainly while watching TV on my 32 inch LCD and I find I don't need to turn the volume up quite as much for comfortable hearing. However, these headphones do not have reversible ear cuffs like the V150 which allow you to listen with only one ear as a studio monitor. But if you have no need for that these may be a viable option. Either way it's SONY so for the price what else can I say except I'm very happy with them. Can't go wrong as far as I'm concerned.
Customer Review: Extremely Good Value Summary: 5 Stars
These things are awesome. They sound amazing. The bass isn't overpowering and they are very clear. They fit over my ears nicely. The cord is a bit long, but I just bundle some of it up and it's no problem. They actually hurt my head after listening for a while, but I think that something's wrong with me, ha. It's not that bad, but it's just a weird pressure feeling. I still love these headphones anyway despite that fact. The build quality isn't that great, they're somewhat plastic-y, but it's not bad enough to make them not worth it and it's expected since they're so cheap. In fact, these are probably the best deal in headphones ever.
