Customer Review: Save your money, BUY THESE!!

I've had several pairs of earbuds over the years. Some, like the Shure e3C, were expensive, lacking in bass response and never really worth it. Others, like Skullcandy, were inexpensive and sounded good but didn't last due to poor materials and assembly. These Sonys are cheap, sound great, and well made.
The in-cord volume control is convenient and well constructed, so dirt and other matter won't get in to impede performance. The earbuds come in several sizes and, to my surprise, are color coded to make pairing easier . What a great idea! Sure beats laying them all on the table and trying to figure which is which. The earpieces also fit over a small ridge which keeps them from easily falling off in your pocket, a problem with other mfrs. The cord does not easily tangle, snag or transmit "rustling" noises to the earpieces, a problem I've had with Sennheiser models. Finally, when you see their simple solution for taking up slack cord you'll wonder why all headphone manufacturers haven't been doing the same thing for years.
I researched several Sony models before buying this one. For instance, I was going to purchase the MDR-EX38iP model but if you don't need the microphone for your iPhone or other brand phone, save the $10 and buy these. From a music playback standpoint, they're identical.
I'm a bit of an audiophile and can report that it's hard to make precise judgments about the sound when they won't let you A/B compare this model against others. However, I can say with confidence that these 'phones sound great for the money, and will even compare well with models costing $60 or more. For instance, my daughter has a $60 set of Sennheiser earbuds and these sound just as good but the Sonys benefit from all the features I described above.
Save your money and enjoy a pair of these. If you lose or destroy them, it won't be so painful. . .
