Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony MDREX36V/BLK EX Earbud Headphone (Black)Customer Review: Decent for the price Summary: 4 Stars
The only thing I have used other then these are the Skullcandy INK'd earbuds, which recently shorted out on me and died. The Skullcandy's lasted me a good 2 years and I loved them for the price, the only thing I hated about them was they didn't label the right and left earbud, minor issue for some, but major for me!
Anyway I decided to try the Sonys out and comparing them to my previous buds I personally think the INK'd sounded a little better, or maybe they were just a bit lounder.
As for the on cord volume, I honestly think they are dumb and mine never gets used. another problem I have is with the 3 sized tips included the small ones are way to small for my ears the mediums fit great but fall out very often while jogging or a slight pull on the cord, and the large tips hurt my ears after a while.
With all that said I do actually like these, they sound great and just have a few personal shortcomings for me.
Customer Review: Good earbuds, but a little quiet. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought these headphones at the same time as I bought some Skull Candy ones (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003HKTWKO/ref=oss_product) because I couldn't decide between them, I figured I'd use both, and it made it so the shipping was free.
I have to say these headphones have good quality, and I enjoy the volume control right on the cord. It also comes with a carry bag and multiple sizes of snap-on earpieces. The one complaint I do have though is that they just don't go loud enough. When I'm working out I simply can not drown out the rest of the gym, even with the earbuds all the way up and my mp3 player (Sansa Clip+) all the way up. This is not a problem with the SkullCandy headphones.
Overall, these earbuds are comfortable to wear and do have good sound but the volume on them just isn't very good for working out or for noisy areas.
Customer Review: Great sound quality. Terribly built. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought these headphones to replace my iPod headphones as an upgrade. Any pair of headphones is an upgrade honestly, but I wanted to try out these since my friend wouldn't stop talking about them.
Pros
-Excellent sound quality. Deep and rich bass. Well balanced mids and lows. Everything sounds crisp.
-Good cord length.
-Comfortable buds.
-Reasonable price.
Cons
-These will start breaking within 3 months. I guarantee it. I work out at my local Shaolin temple with these and run a lot, and after a bit of time, the cheap plastic wears out.
These would be perfect if Sony built them to last. Other than that, if you're just a casual music listener, I recommend you getting these 100%.
Cheers.
Customer Review: I like them! Summary: 4 Stars
I'm not an audiophile. I'm also not a fan of spending more than $15 for earbuds. I bought a pair of these, and I like them. They are better quality that most of the other ones I've bought, and the sound quality is more than adequate for what I use them for.
I've also purchased skull candy ear buds (who hasn't?) and I prefer them for comfort and I think the sound quality is about on par with these. However my skull candy buds live short, well loved lives, as they inevitably break within the first few weeks of use (I live with small children, they pull the earbuds out of my ears, and my cat likes to steal them, 'nuff said). These have held up very well to similar abuse.
Customer Review: Decided to go "cheap" and got more than I bargained for Summary: 4 Stars
I'll keep it simple -
Pro's -
Excellent low bass response
Clear, but not overpowering high's
Comfortable
Affordable
VERY minor Con's
Not enough mid-bass response right out of the box. I found a minor EQ bump in the 250-1000hz range really opens them up and creates a flatter response. I suggest the "Pop" setting on an iPod even though it slightly knocks the bass down. However, this also comes down to personal taste. Let your ears decide.
Wires seem a bit thin. We'll see how they hold up and I'll report back.
