Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony MHC-EC55 Mini Hi-Fi Component SystemCustomer Review: Superb sound quality Summary: 5 Stars
I bought a used system - it turned out to be 6 months old in nearly original condition. The sound quality is fantastic for relatively small bookshelf type speakers. I am very please with the system overall. Sony quality at an affordable price, you cannot beat it. Having said that, the Amazon warehouse did an extremely poor job packing the system for shipment. Either that or the reseller did the deed. The components were dropped into the original mfr carton with the cardboard molded base but nothing on the top of the box to secure the components in the carton or protect them during shipment. Amazingly enough the whole system arrived in excellent condition and we are enjoying it as I write this. It is close to having a concert hall orchestra in the living room!
Customer Review: AMAZING SOUND- kills bose or anyone else Summary: 5 Stars
This is a totally awesome product, one of many by Sony, i have yet to be disappointing. I have it on right now on volume 7 (out of 30) and its crystal clear. sounds perfect! louder volumes sound great! no distortion! I listen mostly to rock- right now i have 2 Def Leppard CD's and a Poison CD in the 3 disk changer (and yes im 16 and i love these bands). The sound is awesome on the Rock EQ setting. no haze in the background- just perfect clear music that sounds just like in concert! When listening to AM radio set the EQ to Jazz and any background fuzz is taken out. Simple Installation and simple operation! I love it!
THE VERDICT= I'd buy this for $200 and they sell it for $100 ~~~ BUY IT you own't be dissapointed
Customer Review: So far, so good Summary: 5 Stars
The little wall mounted Phillips unit I had couldn't project a roomful of music so I banished it to the kitchen where it's OK.
This Sony unit met all my criteria: 1)reasonable price 2)full-featured 3) compact d)name brand e) FREE shipping-yippee! f) no sales tax (I could have bought in person at Target but sales tax would have made Target's unit $8.00 higher....worth the few days wait.
I have limited space in my Tudor cottage and the relatively small footprint of the Sony made it possible to use a nice small wall table.
While I've only had the unit a week everything works and I haven't yet read the manual. I have NEVER been disappointed in a Sony product.
Customer Review: Falling in Love Summary: 5 Stars
We got the Sony yesterday for Christmas, and unpacked it right away. It is bigger than we expected, and we had to rearrange part of our living room to accommodate the player. It really is wonderful. The sound is surprising for a unit that sells in this price range. We like chamber music and we got it sounding right.
I read on some of the reviews posted here that the disc changer is loud. Give me a break. The changer does what it has to do without interfering. If your ears are so sensitive or your expectations so pure that the sound of a disc moving in a machine is going to upset your sensibilities then I don't know what you might really want. It's a bargain.

Can I amend this in the future? I ripped open the package immediately like a two year old at Christmas because I am tired of relying on an MP3 player and teeny speakers. It is chintzy in weight, ugly like a tin robot AND I LOVE IT!! Who cares about anything but the sound which had me breathless immediately. I am so pleased that I am writing this with Rachmaninoff in the background and before learning everything I should know before sending a full review. But I just couldn't wait. It is bigger than I thought and that left me with only one place to put it but again who cares?! I can reconfigure later just as I can figure everything else as the music rolls along.
