This was purchased as a gift for my in-laws. They needed a replacement stereo for their condo in downtown Chicago after a neighbor had a fire which damaged much of my in-law's condo. They wanted a small stereo with multiple CD capability. This unit fits the bill. It has fantastic sound for such a small stereo and fills their condo completely without having to turn up the volume. So far they are extremely happy with this unit. Of course being a Sony helps. My in-laws do not work well with today's technology but this stereo offers simple operation. The radio reception could be better, a lot better, but they mostly wanted it for the multiple CD feature.Customer Review: Sony mini-stereo

I recently purchased a Sony mini-stereo from Amazon.com and I am pleased with this little system.
It is small but it packs quite a punch at a very reasonable price.
If you want to hear your music and not spend a fortune then is it. This stereo cranks out the sound.
I don't hear well and I have a tendency to blow out speakers so I replaced the speakers that came with it with a pair of Technics speakers I had but the original speakers sounded great also. I wasn't sure if they could handle the volumn I like for long without blowing and I know the Technics can handle it.
I love mine and I can hear the music the way I want to.

My wife and I were just married in our back yard. We looked for a small system that would be loud and clear for our music. Sight unseen, we bought this system. We could have bought another more expensive brand, but this one sounded good. The sound was awesome! And unlike other small systems, there is no sound distortion at higher volume levels. It turns out that this unit is an upgraded version of a similar Sony system that I bought years ago. However, the sound quality of this one is easily 50% better than the original, which cost more. My highest recommendation for a system so inexpensive.Customer Review: Music Lady :)

I have always been a fan of Sony. I wanted a compact disc receiver. I also wanted the radio part to receive all the radio stations near and far from my area. For more years than I care state, I listen to the radio when getting ready for work and weekend mornings. Cleaning house, etc. I listen to my CDs. The Sony Component System is exactly what I wanted. Picks up radio stations near and far. The sound is great - speakers do a good job. I have looked for over a year - price, size, receiver are my most important qualities. I am well satisfied. I recently purchased the Sony Mini Hi-Fi Component System and would like to say I am very pleased.
I ordered the item a few days before Christmas and at the time I was advised that it would be delivered a few days after. However, I was very surprised that it was delivered right before Christmas and was pleased that I was able to play my Christmas CDs.
Very satisfied with the product and the qualilty. Would recommend to anyone who does not have a lot of money, yet need a quality stereo. Worth the $$$.
