I picked this stereo system to replace a dinasaur cassette boombox. The receiver is larger than I expected, but we found a great spot for it. I like the digital tuner, and it will be nice to be able to turn the volume down with the remote. We get good reception, even out in the boonies. AM has some static, but I think that's just AM radio. I chose this system on the reviews and size. Very happy with the purchase price as well. Bought on Amazon for $99.Customer Review: Kudos-Kudos to Sony

Well, we brought a system by Bose and spent a lot of money and was disappointed. Anyway, we sent it back and brought this system by Sony and it was just great. I put it in my kitchen and my husband hooked up the speakers and it was wonderful. The clarity of the music was great and it sounded like a symphony hall. This is what BOSE was suppose to do. In this case we did not get what we paid for. So again KUDOS TO SONY AND YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.Customer Review: Great radio reception & sound quality !

The sound quality is top notch on this system. As far as radio reception this system gets better radio reception than any other radio I have ever had including a $600 dollar system that I bought about 15 years ago. It also plays cd's very well. The sleep function is also much appreciated. I found the remote very handy to use and even programmed preset stations without having to open the manual. Excellent sound quality. I was hoping it was going to be a little smaller. It is rather large for a mini, but the sound makes it worth a bit more size. I'd like to crank it up all the way, but I'm afraid my neighbors will call the police. The sound doesn't break up at all. If you like really loud, good quality sound, this one's for you.
(It's not huge, just bigger than I expected.)

Just purchased this item to serve as an entertainment system for our new vacation home. The stereo is excellent, is easy to use, and has a powerful deep sound that works very nicely for what we needed. The remote control and the fact that it can hold three cds makes it especially convenient as well. I would definitely reccomend this system given it was just under $100. A very good product.
