THe new minidisc by Sony is awesome. 1 minidisc holds a Gig of memory, shock resistant and it is very portable. The sound is awesome, becuase Sony allows you to customize the sound on 6 different levels meaning sound can be adjusted to your preference. Battery life is around 30 hours which is great. Runs off one regular one AA battery which is great and this thing is light. You can use to workout or whatever it perfecty sets itself up to be any type of player you want it to be. Atrac3plus is a great addition to the Hi-MD, even Atrac3plus at 64kps is better than Mp3 128kps. Overall this is a great product I recommend this over any Mp3 jukebox or flash player.Customer Review: More than expected.

At this price (below $170) Hi-MD is a beast! The unit is so light that I carry it everywhere even without headphones just for the sole purpose of data exchange. It is so much geeker than those pen-drives. And for few bucks I can buy a bunch of old, dirt cheap MD disks.
The only one thing I can not understand in this business is why Sony is not pushing this product as much as it deserves???
For music I am mostly using MD's copied on my stereo, so the software does not hurt this much.

The sound quality of this Hi-MD player is fantastic. My Rio player just did not deliver this kind of quality. I was skeptical for a long time about the whole MD concept, but MD actually costs the least per byte, and its optical playback method makes it drop-resistant. MD seems to be quite suitable for carrying around downloaded music. The only thing is that Sony's music store does not match this great medium or the player in quality. I hope they are working on this problem.Customer Review: MD Please!

This player is great. Really great. MiniDisc in general is great- a durable media that offers you unlimited storage (you can buy more discs) and that does not skip (P.S., I have seen iPods skip)!
The Software it comes with is bad unless you download the upgrade (version 3.4) which actually works really, really well.
Well, MiniDIscs in general rock!

Sounds great, easy to use and easy on the battery!Software is absolutely no problem and ultra easy.Cannot understand why people are having difficulty with it.1GB disc is awesome.UPDATE: had it over 2 years now - works great and the software is easy to understand. Love the submenu and shuffle plus equaliser. SONY -make more of these, they are great.
