Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Mdr-Ex32Lp/Blk Ex Earbuds Headphones (Black)

Customer Review: Good fit and great sound
Summary: 5 Stars

My favorite earbuds thus far are the Creative Labs EP-630 as those have great sound, good bass, are very comfortable, and have great noise isolation from your environment - even in airports and on planes.

I bought a pair of these Sonys today at Target (unfortunately they cost $10 more, but no shipping charge...). I was listening this afternoon, and they sound as good as the Creative earbuds do, but with slightly better treble response - more clarity but still good bass. The default covers (size M?) fit my ears fine. The cord is also about 8 inches longer than the EP-630. If you have trouble getting them all the way into your ear, try opening your mouth very wide (so your lower jaw drops down - like when you're trying to 'pop' your eardrums to equalize) and then sticking the earbuds in (to your ears, not your mouth) and the seal will be nice and tight. There is less cord noise than with the EP-630's.

I have an iPod Nano, 2nd generation (the tall thin one), 4 GB. I usually set my EQ to 'Rock' for good sound, but sometimes use 'R&B' if a song has poor bass in the recording. At either setting these earbuds sounded great. One other note - the sound volume seems lower than with the EP-630's - I'd guess about 25% 'less loud.' All you have to do is turn up the volume, though.

Overall, the sound quality is very good, they isolate out external sounds very well, and they don't cost a ridiculous amount. I am happy with the purchase. I am picky, but there is no freakin' way I am paying $100 for a pair of headphones that could get lost, damaged or stolen. That seems crazy to me. Think of all the gas, food, earbuds, and music you could buy for that. :)

Description of Sony Mdr-Ex32Lp/Blk Ex Earbuds Headphones (Black)

Sony's MDR-EX32LP Ear-Bud Headphones use a silicon Ear-Bud that allows the driver to fit comfortably in the ear canal and prevents it from slipping out too easily. It also helps to block surrounding noise by helping to seal the ear canal from that noise. The EX32LP also comes with 3 different sizes of Ear-Buds allowing them to fit comfortably in a large range of ear sizes.
