This is an authentic Sony battery, the same one that ships with your camera. And it works just like the one that came with your camera - same battery life, same amount of time to charge. No competition yet. I searched for a week and only the Sony is available for my DSC-W100 camera. Price range is from $35 shipped to $60 plus shipping. Amazon has it for $35 with shipping. I've seen used from $23, however, buying a used battery is not wise. Sony has a lock on this one. With a H9 and a W90 camera from Sony, I most certainly needed a spare battery when out and about. The Sony battery is just like the battery that is supplied with the cameras. It has a great long lasting charge that gets a lot of shots in. While heading to Maui in a week, this was needed so I can take many pictures without needing to stop and recharge.Customer Review: Amazon = Excellent

I received my new battery withing 3 buisiness days without paying for faster service! This Battery was a great addition to my Sony Cyber shot. As most consumers have realized, a second battery and a Huge(4GB)not Large(1GB) memory is what makes the most of your photographic hobbies. I would buy another without hesitation.
