Customer Review: Much better capacity!

I own a Sony HDR-CX550V camcorder and think it is great! ...except for the small NPFV50 battery that comes standard with the unit. If you have one of these (or similar) units, you know what I'm talking about. You can easily get over an hour of recording time, but two is pushing it. The NPFV100, however, has provided a MUCH larger capacity and record times. I have used it to record a two-hour play, and two one-hour youth soccer games, all without needing to recharge, and still with capacity left. Try doing THAT with the stock battery!
The NPFV100 battery is twice the length of the stock battery, so it does stick out noticeably further when in operation. But, it has not been a problem for me during use, whether hand-held or on a tripod. I am just charging it while on the camcorder, and it only takes a few hours. For the money, this is about as "no-brainer" as camcorder accessory purchases get. If you use your camcorder with any frequency, you will want this larger capacity battery.
