This monitor has worked great for us with only one complaint -- lots of interference. The monitor is super sensitive(I often turn it up just to hear my daughter breathing) and can pick up noises even if placed on the dresser more than a foot away from the crib. I have also enjoyed the ability to recharge the portable part. It is great to just plug it in and still use it while charging. My only complaint is unexplained interference -- lots of beeps or static. Yes, the phone or my husband's optical mouse will affect it but other times it just beeps inexplicably. At first the monitor was great until one day it would not stop beeping at me (no matter what channel was used). I then called Sony the man I talked with was helpful and was able to send me a new set (after I sent mine to him). This set seems to be better I have not had any problems, I just hope it stays that way. I do have to say though that if the monitor is working it is worth the extra money. There are so many children in my neighborhood that with any other monitor I was getting other houses no matter what brand. My husband and I adore this monitor. It picks up on every little noise our little one makes which is great. We occasionally get some interference, but all I have to do is move the monitor and it goes away. The interference never occurs on the unit in my baby's room, just on the parent unit so you do not have to worry about waking the little one up. I love the rechargeable battery option and the ability to carry around the unit with me throughout our 2 story house. I plug it in at night by my bed and it then runs all day long! This monitor is awesome. I purchased it after trying two Fisher Price models. One was an older monitor from a yard sale the other was the brand new 900mhz long range monitor (it is trash--my yard sale one was better, even though the volume control had a very loud crackle.)This Sony monitor has a very long range (I just went 5 houses down the street and could still hear the hum of my dryer in the next room with NO static). It is unbelievably clear especially for the price. I thought I'd have to spend a lot more money for such a great reception.Customer Review: Great Monitor! Better than Fisher Price!!!

We got the fisher price monitor 900 Mhz Long Range - WHAT TRASH! no matter where we went in the house - horrible static. We purchased this one based on the reviews and it's great! I gave it 4 stars only because occasionally there is a beeping coming through - maybe picking up someone dialing? But it's not often and otherwise - it's great! I love the feature of voice activation. IT's not on all the time - why do I need to hear my son breathe? It only goes on when he makes a noise louder than his breathing or turning. It's great!
