We bought and returned two different Fisher-Price models because of static and background noise. The last time, I chose this one because of the Sony name and I am so glad I did! Having nine channels (versus the Fisher-Price's two!) makes such a difference if you have cordless phones, etc. that are causing interference. This model is the same price as the Fisher-Price model that comes with two receivers. You only get one receiver, but it is well worth it. Dad can even take it outside (with a belt clip included!) when he does yardwork. The sound is crystal clear and we are ecstatic!Customer Review: Best Monitor EVER

We love this monitor. We had just a $20 one and hated it and never used it. Because we hated it so much we almost lost our son to Near Miss SIDS ( more or less I walked in on him dieing with 1 minute or life left). But we went out before we left the hospital and bought this monitor and loved it. It was never static and thats all we heard with the other one. I never picked up neighbors unlike the last one. It was Great. This is a worry free monitor and it also great with the voice activator which was a plus. We always heard our son and never had to worry. This is the first baby monitor we've tried and we are quite happy with it. We did a good bit of research ahead of time and chose this one because of its features and the reliability. I like that the receiver unit can plug into the wall. I don't really like to use the voice-activated mode but my husband does and says it works great. When in the normal mode, I can hear little birds outside my baby's window and cars passing our house; it's quite sensitive! I also like the lights on the receiver; you can turn the volume all the way down if you're watching a movie or something.Customer Review: Great product!

My husband and I LOVE this monitor! Our daughter doesn't have to cry very loud for the monitor to pick up the sound. And the voice activation mode is nice, it only goes off if she fusses so we don't have to listen to "white noise". The sound quality is also very clear! We highly recommend this product! Great value for the price! :)
It's Nov. '09 now and we are using this monitor for our second daughter after using it for a couple years with our first. It's still going strong and just as great as it was the day we got it. I would still highly recommend this product!

We bought this as a second monitor for our older child because someone else in our area was coming through on her other one. (hearing someone elses child on your monitor at 2am is freaky!!)
We went with the sony because it has more channels than others and was resonably priced. We have not had a problem with it at all. No static, No interference and it comes in very clear. We also have another monitor in our house that is on at the same time for my son and have not had any interference from that one either (that one is a different brand though.)
