We purchased our daughter a new mega pixel digital camera for Christmas and purchased a Sony Quick Recharge NiMH Battery Charger to recharge batteries for her (digital cameras go through batteries astonishingly quickly). When the Sony Charger arrived it was discovered to be an excellently built high end product with 4 NiMH batteries installed.
The charger has a universal charging option for overseas use and recharged the original 4 batteries very quickly.
The Sony NiMH Batteries are still in use from the original charge at Christmas with 2 left for backup when she needs them.
The unit was moderately priced and we feel we received much more than our monies worth from Sony.

I'm moving to rechargeable batteries for all my remote controls, wireless keyboards, mice, etc, that seem to just chew up batteries. I tried this unit after a little research and it works great. The batteries come uncharged which was slightly disappointing. But after charging they have a good lifespan. When I take out a dead one I put it right into the charger, and when its charged back up I put it into a little container I keep in the closet.
Handles 4AAs or 2AA and 2AAA at a time. Buy enough extra batteries so that you have enough for all the devices you want to use these with plus a few spares to rotate through when they discharge.

I have tried many other rechargeable batteries and none of them stay charged that long. I've missed out on opportunities to take great pictures with my camera that I use them for. I have to say that these stay charged for a very long time and are definitely worth the money. I used these batteries and charger for my camera on a recent vacation. During the week I was gone....I took tons of pictures and only had to change the batteries one time. The charger is very easy to use and only takes about an hour to recharge your batteries. You can charge both AA and AAA batteries at the same time. Definitely would recommend this set to others. Well worth the buy.Customer Review: Performs well

Good compact battery charger that includes 4 AA batteries.
Don't be fooled by the description of the product though, it will only charge 2 AAA batteries at a time (not 4 as stated on the product description).
A big plus is that there is no cord; the connector unfolds from the back of the charger making life easier without having to deal with bulky messy cords.
There is only one LED light that shuts off once the charge is completed which leaves me thinking about what happens when batteries at different stages are charged at the same time...
In my experience it takes about 4 hours for 4 depleted AA batteries to charge completely.

This is a review for the batteries - the charger is best I have owned so far and its quick in comparison to others.
I take about 700 - 1000 photos a day (640x480)res. with a olympus sp-550uz.
These sony batteries charge quicky (I bought the sony quick charger) and they will last you an entire day or more.
Buy these batteries if you take a lot of photos, they are worth it.
I bought these to replace a set of cheap "power 2000" rechargable batteries. (amazon sells these also, I got the "power 2000" batteries free and they were not even worth charging or using. They consitently died after about 150 photos.)
