Customer Review: Best Remote Ever... Period
Summary: 5 Stars

For Xmas my wife and myself treated ourselves to an Olevia 32" LCD TV for the bedroom. One problem I needed 3 remotes. One for the TV, one for the Tivo and one for the cable box (for On Demand). Both the cable box and the Tivo have basic TV functions and refused to work with the TV. The expensive Logitech Remote that I also had refused to work with the TV. A morning spent Googling confirmed that there are issues with this TV and remotes.

The solution presented itself in an "Open-Box" Sony remote for $15. Quite simply put in learning mode it can learned anything!!! I have the TV component programmed to control ALL the functions that I use for all three remotes. The only time I need to change to another component is if I want to watch cable on demand (which is not often).

Excellent product for the price, in fact I'm going to buy another one to replace the Logitech Harmony in the main room.

Customer Review: Does what it is suppose to
Summary: 5 Stars

Had a new AV system that looked odd in the TV section of the TV cabinate, though that is where my DVD, cable box, and tivo were. I moved all components in the bottom enclosure, added an RF distribution system. The VL600 performed admirably! After figuring out what order things should come on, and what button pushes were needed to switch between functions, the VL600 took the programming and executed without issue, every time. Simple one-button pushes now turn everything on and off (in order), switch to tivo, switch to Cable box, switch to DVD, and switch to the stereo AV. It is nice having one remote that does it all. I have to keep the old remotes in case I ever need to retrain this remote. I only had to do that for a very few buttons, maybe 3, including the tivo.

It does take some patience and does require planning to build the programming in the proper order, and that makes perfect sense.

Customer Review: Best universal remote
Summary: 5 Stars

For $25 you can't beat it. It does everything I wanted it to do and then some without all the expense and complicated software that goes a long with one of those Harmony remotes. Those things are just way overpriced and overcomplicated for the average home theater system in my opinion.

It does a great job of programming most common functionality using the different codes based on the devices you have. Anything additional can be programmed by simply pointing the two remotes together and having the remote "learn" whatever button you want. It also has the ability to program up to 4 macros (A, B, C and D) which are what really make this remote worth the money. I have mine set up to turn everything on/off with one button and then a couple other buttons to switch the inputs for DVD/TV/etc.

This remote has made my life with my home theater system a LOT easier. Definitely well worth the money.

Customer Review: Great Remote (Make sure you are actually getting the RM-VL600)
Summary: 5 Stars

The remote listed here is fabulous. Easy to program, intuitive. I recieved mine from PlusDig and am completely satisfied with the purchase. Item arrived and shipped super quick. I only alluded in the title of this review to make sure that you get this actual model (which has apparently been discontinued). I though I'd get it locally and went to a prominent Big Box retailer and they listed this model number as in stock on their webpage. However, the actual model in the store is this replacement (RMVLZ620) which is a re-design and a lemon in mine and several other amazon reviewer's opinion. Again the actual RM-VL600 is a dream (hence the five stars) and my buying experience has been super. Just make sure another retailer doesn't pull the switch-a-roo on you, just felt obligated to write that. 5 Stars for the listed model and Amazon is great even when dealing through other companies.

Customer Review: The One Remote to replace all the others
Summary: 5 Stars

I was skeptical about a universal remote that could replace the other five remotes I have for my entertainment center. I was pleasantly surprised, therefore, when this remote did all as advertised. It was easy to program, (at least for this old computer programmer) and had enough options to please me greatly.
I did have one problem with programming from an obscure SONY products' remote, but one email to SONY tech support resulted in an almost immediate reply with an answer so simple to implement that I wondered why I did not think of it myself. The solution worked the first time I tried it.
I now have five remotes sitting on a shelf in a small box with a pack of batteries just in case I ever need one them again. But, for 99% of my remote needs, this one suits me perfectly. And there is room for three more electronic remotes to be programmed should I expand my entertainment center further.
