Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony SRF-M37V FM/AM/Weather/TV Radio Walkman with 25 Memory PresetsCustomer Review: Darned effective Summary: 5 Stars
The radio does fine for picking up FM/TV/WX bands. Not the best in the world, but it's a whole lot easier to get a fairly weak FM with digital tuning. However, I've been ridiculously impressed with AM reception on this unit. Single battery, sub-deck-o-cards sized? Nighttime reception from West of Kansas City... I've gotten 5 Chicago stations, Nashville, Cinncinnatti, Atlanta, Detroit. Unreal. The ferrite bar in there is very directional. But, pick a frequency and wave the radio around and you'll find something. Of course this was a lot cooler 20 years ago when all the "clear channel" stations weren't Clear Channel stations. That detracts nothing from this fine radio, though.
Customer Review: perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
I was looking for something that could tune in to fm stations so I can listen to the tvs at my gym. I tried cheaper ones and ended up throwing them away. I haven't used the earphones that come with the radio as I have earbud headphones from Phillips. As far as the radio goes, the best things about this radio is the lock button so I don't accidentally change the channel, the six presets which I have each assigned to different tvs at the gym, the fact that it uses only 1 AAA battery and it lets you know how much battery is left. I'd say the only con is the clip which I have trouble clipping, but that's a minimal problem. This is exactly what I was looking for and it's perfect for me!
Customer Review: No flaws Summary: 5 Stars
As far as what this little radio sets out to do, it accomplishes. And does as good as job as I could see any radio at this price, and this size could be capable of.All of its bands, TV/Weather/AM/FM come in great. I mostly listen to AM, which is quirky in itself but it works as good as any other radio I've used. I mostly use it to workout with and for my programs Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, at my university health center and it works great inside that particular building. But like any of these little radios, inside a given building results may vary. Great pluses are its small size, ease of use (it is incredibly simple and intuitive), and great performance.
Customer Review: Sony SFR-M37V FM/AM/Weather/TV Radio Summary: 5 Stars
This is an amazing little radio and is perfect! Gets great AM reception. I bought it for late night AM talk radio and it is very small and has great reception. I live in the country so I need a radio to have real good reception. The FM reception and sound quality are also excellent. The weather band works fine. The headphones that come with it are OK but a good pair of earbuds really makes this little rig sound big. It has a belt clip. It has a button lock on it, which is real nice, but you can still control the volume up or down, which I really like. I have had several sonys over the years and this radio for the price is great. Buy it, you will like it.
Customer Review: Sanity at work! Summary: 5 Stars
This little radio is my sanity from 7:00 to 4:30 every workday. I work in a "cubicle farm" with lots of distractions, but I just pop in my earbuds and listen to TV all morning and talk radio all afternoon. One triple A battery lasts a week or so. I'm on the 12th floor of an old downtown building and can't get much in the way of radio reception with a regular radio, but my little Sony does just fine!
I'm not sure what I'll do when the digital transition kicks in on June 12th. I sure will miss listening to The Today Show! Hopefully, Sony will come up with a digital version of this radio.
