Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony Ultra Lightweight MDR-W08L Vertical In-The-Ear HeadphonesCustomer Review: The Best Deal For The Money Summary: 5 Stars
This set of earphones has to be the best deal in town. They typcially cost about 10 dollars, yet they deliver very good sound quality. The very nice thing about them, too, is that they fit right inside your ear - delivering the sound where it is needed. They are great for just about any application including on a noisy airplane. The 'phones' are almost as good as those expensive so called "noise cancellation" sets. The only down side is that these earphones block out most other sounds around you as they fit rigt into the ear. I would not try walking in front of a train with a set on ... you might not hear it coming. These earphones are efficient and can provide proper sound levels from almost all audio devices. Again - a super deal!
Customer Review: I love these headphones! Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried many headphones that all hurt my ears. I've never found in-the-ear ones that didn't hurt after 10 minutes. I've also tried the sport sony headphones that clip around your hear, but they are too big so they always jump around or fall off when I run.
These headphones are the first ones I've found that don't hurt my ears at all, even if I'm at the gym for 1 1/2 hours. Some people complained in reviews that the ear part is sharp and scratches your ear-I didn't have this problem at all. Others complained that the cord is too short-but I disagree if you are short. I am only 5'2" and feel that most cords are far too long, so these are the perfect length for me. Overall, I think these are great headphones.
Customer Review: Old school, but amazing Summary: 5 Stars
I adore these headphones. I have a number of issues when it comes to finding headphones I like.
Firstly, I'm a distance runner so I need headphones that will stay in my ears for a long period of time. I hate having to fidget with headphones during a run so the more stable the better. Secondly, I have tiny ears which normal ear buds tend to fall out of.
I've tried many different types of headphones but I keep coming back to these. I first got these headphones (or this style) probably 10 years ago with my CD player and I have yet to find a pair that better stay on my head and in my ears. The sound quality is great for what I use them for. Also, they are pretty resistant to sweat and weathering.
Customer Review: A great product! Summary: 5 Stars
I got these solely for gym and running use because they stay on more securely than earbuds, and they've turned out to be a wonderfully durable pair of earphones. They get bundled up and stashed in my full gym bag all the time, yet the headband won't break; I've worn them in pouring rain and in cold weather with no problem. I've had mine for at least four years and keep forgetting to buy a fresh pair because they still work alright. As for the sound quality part, I think they're ok, but I'm sure anyone who knows anything about hi-fi stuff would disagree (I understand that a $10 product must have flaws). However, I think these earphones are great, and I'm glad they're still available so I can finally get that fresh pair.
Customer Review: Excellent Change from 'Earbuds' Summary: 5 Stars
The MDR-W08L headphones are an excellent replacement for 'earbuds'. They are adjustable to fit any head size. They stay on, even during workouts. They are of an unobtrusive size. They are light weight and they have the 'right' wire length. Their 'highs' and 'midrange' are clear and clean. Their 'bass' is a little weak, but the bass is still audible (comparable to 'earbuds')(the bass is physically inherent because of their 3.5mm diameter driver). If you want 'bass' at a nice price of ~$15 pick up a package of COBY CVH56CIR headphones (2 in a Pack!) that have a 40mm driver that really 'puts-out' the bass. I love my SONY MDR-W08L headphones and I now have two pairs of them. (One pair for at work and one pair for at home).
