Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sony VAIO VGP-BPL6 Large Capacity BatteryCustomer Review: Handy and Powerful Summary: 4 Stars
I am very pleased i bought this battery, it gives me plenty of time to do what i need to do. I have been able to work on my new vaio up to three hours. I do believe it is worth the money down to the last penny.

Battery was bought used, but looks like new(not a scratch). Excellent battery life and is still working great since my purchase 2 months ago. Very reasonable price.
Customer Review: Outrageously priced Summary: 2 Stars
I bought my first VGP-BPL6 on March 24, 2007 from Amazon (through PC Universe) for $188.87. Worked great - easily provides five hours regardless of screen/power saving settings.
Now it's already completely dead and won't hold a charge. And now it's somehow worth $300 +???? Why doesn't Sony just come to your house with a gun to rip you off? I'd respect it more. Or be honest up front and say "oh we'll be jacking the price way up on this after the models have been out for about a year." So it's the stock battery which on an ultra-low voltage machine Sony manufactures to provide less than 2 hours of run-time, or $300. Have they started making these from platinum? Sony sure did not sell enough VGN-any UMPC models to say demand is so high this price can be remotely justified.
This is EXACTLY why I won't be buying Sony anything from now on. What an offensively over-priced battery. It's more than a third of the cost of many of the models it works with. And for $300 maybe it will last a year.
All this does is take a great little machine which I loved and leave a bad taste in my mouth for anything Sony. Hopefully that's what their goal was.

The battery life does not even come close to the advertised listing. Save your money and wait until Sony does a better job. I am a big fan of all things Sony and this is my first big disappointment.

Customer Review: dead right after warranty is over Summary: 1 Stars
Made in Japan but...dead. Laptop does not even recognize it's plugged in. I lost my 6 hrs worth of work on my business trip due to this battery which I purchased directly from Sony. Sony told me these are meant to be replaced every year. Somehow my double A's last longer than this. This was also my back up battery, I've only used this twice.
