Just a quick review here... an excellant bulb and housing bought, ordered, installed and a quick delivery also! (The XL-2400 for my SONY WEGA wide-screen TV.) It took me a couple trys to install but after reading the manual to the set it was a snap and a slide and a power-on!One thing to remember after installing the bulb/housing, make SURE to re-install the plastic side door ALL of the way in! Turn the knob clock-wise to lock and then it will detect and work! But, bottom line, I feel as though I 'saved' my TV that I love so much. The color and brightness is real nice. So, yes, I give this product 4 stars. If you hear that 'pop' of the bulb 'going out' and the screen goes blank- do not depair. Thanks. -BOBBY C.Customer Review: Waiting for the long-term review...

I bought this for my grandmother's Sony DLP TV. After the notification kept appearing, I offered to order one. For the complete assembly, Amazon had the best value/price including the Prime shipping. However, next time, I recommended to get the bare lamp and I will swap that out into the original case. This will save about $35 ~ certainly a worthy savings for what will be lees than 5 minutes of work.
I am concerned that this lamp may not last as long as the original, so only time will tell. This is the first replacement lamp for this TV that is about 3-4 years old and is powered on about 6-12 EVERY day. I will provide more feedback if this unit does not last more than a couple of years.

I purchased this replacement lap for my 50" Sony projection HDTV. I was a little nervous about installing this item because I am not very mechanically inclined. I also heard about the warning that if you mishandle the lap it may not work or dramatically shorten its life cycle. I can tell you that I was extremely easy to replace. I used latex gloves and was able to remove and insert the new bulb in less than 5 minutes with no problems. Also, it has dramatically improved my picture quality. The TV looks like it did when it was brand new. It is once again bright and clear. I wish I would have done it a few months ago. Like a previous review stated it takes longer to open the box than to install the replacement lamp. If you still have your owner's manuel it walks you through the steps very easily. The lamp has a hook you lift and pull out.....EASY! The new lamp slides right into where the previous lamp was and you'll hear it click......EASY! Well worth the money and defintely save more money by doing it yourself. After you replace the lamp make sure you go into the menu and select that you have replaced the lamp. Once you do this then the "replace the projection lamp" message will go away. LOVE the new picture after installing!!Customer Review: New lamp makes a like-new TV

It was easy to identify which lamp to order, and it was easy to order. Shipment was prompt, and the unit was a complete lamp and holder. Installation took only a couople of minutes. The results?
A new TV! I had been running the original lamp at an indicated "90" on the TV's meter. When I put in the replacement, I cut the power back to the "normal" level of 50 and the picture was bright, crisp, and just like it was when I turned it on for the first time, years ago.
